This Privacy Policy applies to magnifymed.com, apply.magnifymed.com, magnifymedicare.com, and baxtersinsurancegroup.com, all operated by Baxter’s Insurance Group, LLC, doing business as Magnify Insurance Solutions (“we,” “us,” “our”), a licensed independent insurance brokerage located in Citrus Heights, California.

We are not connected with or endorsed by the United States government or the federal Medicare program.

The short version

We collect information you give us so we can help you understand and enroll in Medicare coverage. We share it only with the insurance companies and organizations required to process an enrollment you have asked for. We never sell your information. We never share your information for marketing purposes. We never share your phone number or your text messaging consent with anyone, for any reason.

When we share it, and with whom

We share your information only in these situations:

With insurance companies, to process an enrollment you requested. When you ask us to enroll you in a plan, we transmit your application to that insurance company. This is the only way an enrollment can be completed.

With our field marketing organization. We are contracted through The Brokerage Inc., which provides licensing, appointment, and compliance oversight for our agency. They may access enrollment records as required for those functions.

With service providers who operate our systems. We use vendors for functions such as email delivery, telephone and text messaging service, and data hosting. These vendors process information on our behalf, are bound by contract to use it only for that purpose, and are not permitted to use it for their own marketing.

When required by law. We will disclose information if compelled by valid legal process, or where disclosure is required by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services or a state insurance regulator.

What we never do

We do not sell your personal information.

We do not rent, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

We do not share your information with affiliates, business partners, or advertisers for promotional purposes.

Mobile information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All of the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

Text messaging

If you provide your mobile phone number through a form on our websites or directly to one of our licensed agents, you may receive text messages from us regarding your application, your appointments, and questions you have asked us. We do not send promotional or marketing text messages.

Your mobile phone number and your consent to receive text messages are never shared with any third party for any purpose.

Health information

Some of the information you provide, including your medications, providers, and coverage history, is health information. We handle it in accordance with applicable federal and state law, including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act where it applies to us, and we limit access to it to those who need it to serve you.

How long we keep it

Federal regulations require us to retain enrollment records and certain marketing and sales records for defined periods. Enrollment records are retained for ten years. Recorded sales calls and related marketing records are retained for at least six years, in accordance with 42 CFR 422.2274.

Information collected through our intake form from applications that were never completed is retained for no more than 180 days and is then permanently deleted.

Technical logs used for website security are retained for no more than twelve months.

How we protect it

We use encryption in transit, access controls, and restricted-access storage. We limit who within our organization can view your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take these obligations seriously.

Please note that where federal law requires us to retain enrollment or sales records, we may not be able to delete those specific records until the required retention period has passed. We will tell you if that applies to your request.

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, the right to request deletion, and the right to opt out of the sale of your personal information. We do not sell personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of, but the right exists and we will honor any request you make. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

Children

Our services are intended for adults eligible for Medicare. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Our websites contain links to other sites, including Medicare.gov and insurance company websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. We encourage you to read their policies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date above and post the revised version here. Material changes will be communicated to you directly where we are able to do so.

We do not offer every plan available in your area. Any information we provide is limited to those plans we do offer in your area. Please contact Medicare.gov or 1-800-MEDICARE (TTY users should call 1-877-486-2048) 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, or your local State Health Insurance Program to get information on all of your options.

Agency represents Medicare HMO, PPO, and PFFS organizations and stand-alone PDP prescription drug plans that have a Medicare contract. Enrollment depends on the plan’s contract renewal.

Every year, Medicare evaluates plans based on a 5-star rating system.

Out-of-network and non-contracted providers are under no obligation to treat Plan members, except in emergency situations. Please call the Plan’s customer service number or see your Evidence of Coverage for more information, including the cost-sharing that applies to out-of-network services.

Total annual cost is calculated by adding up the total annual cost of any monthly premiums, applicable plan deductibles, and estimates for all co-pay and co-insurance amounts that will be due for the medications and health benefits used throughout the year. Costs for medications and health benefits vary across pharmacies and health systems, so the costs provided are only estimates. Actual costs could vary.

For plans with Part D coverage: You may be able to get Extra Help to pay for your prescription drug premiums and costs. You must have both Part A and Part B to enroll in a Medicare Advantage plan. Members may enroll in the plan only during specific times of the year. Contact the plan for more information.
